This Valley Arts M‑Series in Midnight Blue has been part of my musical life for more than three decades and remains a very special instrument to me.
I purchased the guitar brand new on April 12th, 1990 ( see invoice) , from Spanjaard Muziekinstrumentenhandel in Alkmaar, The Netherlands. At the time, it was a conscious choice for a serious, professional‑grade guitar, and from the very beginning it proved to be exactly that. Throughout the years, it became my main workhorse, used extensively during countless rehearsals and live performances.
During the 1990s and 2000s, I played this guitar regularly on stage with various bands in and around Amsterdam. It was the instrument I relied on most during my active gigging period. In 2012, I stopped playing live on stage, and since then the guitar has no longer been used for gigs. Nevertheless, it has remained in my possession and has continued to be carefully owned and appreciated up to the present day.
This is an original early‑1990s Valley Arts M‑Series, featuring classic professional specifications: a two‑piece ash body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard, and 24 medium frets, combined with active EMG pickups and gold‑plated hardware. It is still in gorgeous playing condition, with a beautiful sound and feel that only comes from years of real use.
Cosmetically, the guitar is very beautiful, showing a natural and honest vintage patina. The light finish wear and play marks are exactly what you would expect from a guitar of this age that has truly been played. There are no cracks, no breaks, no repairs, and no modifications — only normal, authentic wear. The photos tell the story clearly: tasteful aging, no abuse, and absolutely no funny business.
In short, this Valley Arts M‑Series is not just a guitar, but an instrument with a real history — one that was bought new, played for many years on stage, and lovingly kept ever since. It remains a special and meaningful guitar, combining character, provenance, and excellent playability.
